"in excavation, built into the inside (north) face of the south wall of a large Hadrianic building in the praetentura of the fort (NY 615 663). This building overlies the ditch of the Turf Wall and is provisionally identified as a basilica exercitatoria. The stone is built into the first course above the modern ground-level, 6.5 m east of the south-east corner of Birdoswald farmhouse" (RIB 3442)
