Commentary
Epitheton Jupiters Archiropious bisher nicht bekannt. V. Lieutaud darin einen Hinweis auf einen Meteor, der in dieser Gegend, dem Gebiet der Vocontii, vom Himmel gefallen ist. Plinius selbst hat diesen Altar dort gesehen (Plin. nat. 2,150). Der Altar hat die Form eines fast quadratischen Kastens und ist innen hohl (Maße des Hohlraums 17 x 20 x 15).
