Commentary
Bilingue Inschrift: Z. 1-8 lateinisch (hier wiedergegeben), Z. 9-12 keltisch (knappe, vereinfachte Wiederholung des lateinischen Textes). terminus a quo: 49 v. Chr., als Vercellae infolge der lex Iulia municipium wurde (Latein offizielle Sprache). Die 1. Hälfte des 1. Jhs. v. Chr. (genauer ab 89 v. Chr.: Umwandlung von Vercellae in eine Kolonie lateinischen Rechts durch die lex Pompeia) kommt aus paläographischen und lingustischen Gründen weniger in Frage).
