Commentary
Die Inschriften gehörten ursprünglich zum Trajanstor. Kaiserinschrift (a): über 2 nebeneinanderliegende Tafeln hinweglaufend; vermutlich von der Attica; Reste von roter Farbe in den Buchstaben. Stifterinschrift (b): über 2 nebeneinanderliegende Tafeln (74 x 294 x 30 cm) hinweglaufend; vielleicht vom Gebälk über dem Bogendurchgang; Buchstabenhöhe 12 cm. Hedera in Inschrift b, Z. 2. (B): Inschrift a: Kurilić: Z. 1: Ne[r]vae; Liebl - Wilberg; AE 1908; Kurilić: Z. 4: co(n)s(uli).
