                <p>Deckel nicht erhalten. Der Sarkophag wurde im Hochmittelalter für die Aufbewahrung der Überreste des Bischofs Simpert (gest. 807) verwendet. Neben dem Inschriftenfeld Eroten, die die Tafel mit der Inschrift halten. Text 1 steht über dem eigentlichen Inschriftenfeld. Gamer - Rüsch; Nuber: keine Wiedergabe der Inschrift.
