Explanation

    

Altar

  • Monument in the classical form of an altar, e. g. votive or funerary altar

  • also: middle part, corona or crepido of an altar in several parts

  • not:
    separately worked inscription slab, which is attached to the middle section (see below Tabula)

Architectural Member

  • Part of an architectural structure
    e.g. an architrave, column

  • also in the case of floors and walls

  • not:
    Block

Bar

  • Metal bar, commonly with owner/artist inscription or indication of weight, mostly stamped

Base

  • Base that does not carry a statue (but rather e.g. a sculpture or a votive offering)

  • not:
    - separately worked inscription tabula, which is attached to the middle section (see below Tabula)
    - a specific plinth designed to be placed in a base (see below Sculpture)
    - low base worked as one piece together with the object on the base (see below Sculpture)
